Rayong An economic province of Thailand, the land of a greatest poet, Sunthon Phu. Delicious fruits, progressive industries, mouth-watering fish sauce, beautiful Samet Island, celebrated poet Sunthon PhuRayong is a famous province on Thailand's Eastern Seaboard with a long coast of about 100 km. It used to be know as a 3-prong economic province comprising agriculture, Thailand tourism and industry ; but now the industrial sector has been advancing so rapidly that it's only single-prong economy. It's currently the main industrial province of the Eastern Seaboard development project, which is vital to the development of the national economy as a whole, and also an important seaside tourist province. The per-capital income here is the highlight in Thailand, and its gross provincial product is the third largest. On the administration side, it's made up of 8 districts: Mueang, Klaeng, Ban Khai, Ban Chang, Pluak Daeng, Wang Chan, Khao Chamao and Nikhom Phatthana.
Under the Eastern Seaboard development project, Rayong plays an indispensable role as a fresh center of advancement, a standard center of technological studies and researches and a major export gateway, It is thus a high-potential province in terms of industrial investments, which has been expending by leaps and bounds. There are a total of 8 industrial estates and 1 industrial port developed by I-EA-T and operated jointly with the private sector in the province. These occupy a total land area of 15,305 acre, involve investments totaling about 1 trillion baht and house some 400 entrepreneurs employing around 50,000 persons

- King Taksin's Shrine
Built as a remembrance for "King Taksin the Great", this shire is in the compound of Wat Lum Mahachai Chumphon. People mostly like to visit and worship during the Chinese New Year. There's a huge 300-year-old Statue tree in front of the shrine, which is said to be where King Taksin tied his elephant when he came to Chanthaburi to rally troops in preparation for liberating the Thai people from Myanmar.

Located on the main street of Mueang District, this shire is very highly respected by all the people of Rayong Province, It used to be a wooden structure and has been rebuilt into a proper cement building, where celebrations are held every year.
- Si Mueang Park
Widely knows as "Ko Klang", this park is in the middle of Mueang District behind the old town hall and occupies 28 Acre of land. In the park, there's the Angkhirot Buddha Hall which houses the Angkhirot Buddha, the most respected Buddha image of Rayong people.

- Sunthon Phu Monument
Built in memory of Sunthon Phu, the leading poet of the early Rattanakosin period, there are statues of several characters created by him in the "Phra Aphaimani" epic including the central character Phra Aphaimani, mermaid, sea butterfly monster, etc.
Natural attractions: The sea of Rayong is a very convenient place for relaxation. Although the underwater world of this province is not that renowned for its corals, it's a good start of those wishing to enjoy the beauty shallow-water corals and schools of fishes during the storm-free season, November – April.
- Mae Phim Cape
Mae Phim Cape is a popular beach frequented by tourists, very suitable for swimming as the sea water is clear and clean, and you don't have to waste time traveling to nearby islands.
- Khao Chamao – Khao Wong National Park comprises such beautiful attractions as :
Khao Chamao or Khlong Nam Sai, Water falling into a 3 km. – long stream. There are 8 levels with natural ponds (where a great number of native fish thrive) and beautiful cliffs.
Khao Wong is a cluster of 60 large and small caves, all interconnected. Inside are beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, and the best time to visit is February – April when the caves are not underwater.
Mae Ramphueng Beach, about 11 km from Rayong town seat, is a beautiful beach most suitable for swimming. The beach is nice and cool with shady trees.
Khao Laem Ya is a short way from Ban Kon Ao on the route to Ban Phe. It looks like a small earth hill with a little cape jutting into the sea. There's also a tiny bay inside with calm atmosphere. The western part is a broad sand beach and is where the national park office is located.
Samet Island, the jewel of Rayong Province, is a most naturally beautiful Thailand tourist attraction. The clean, clear sea, warn sunshine and white-sand beach, wood and hills are all surrounded with natural, serene atmosphere. It's said that this is "Kaeo Phitsadan Island" in Sunthon Phu's "Phra Aphaimani".
Kudi Island is an island appearing in Sunthon Phu's works. It's on the east side of Samet Island, about 6 km away and has a land area of 40 acre and 2 satellite islets. The atmosphere is calm and serene, the beaches are beautiful and the coral reefs are most suitable for scuba-diving.
Kruai, Kham and Pla Tin Islands are to the north of Kudi island and rich in beautiful beaches and coral reefs.
- Man Islands are in Klaeng District and comprise 3 islands : Man Nai, Man Klang and Man Nok.
Man Nai Island is the location of her majesty the queen's project to conserve sea turtles. The general public is welcome to visit and observe the project. It takes only 30 minutes to walk around. Travels to this island are on boats from Mae Phim Cape or Makham Pom Bay.
Man Klang and Man Nok Island are renowned for their beautiful beaches, clean, clear water and convenient resort-style accommodations.
- Saket Phet Island
Saket Phet Island has beautiful scenery and beaches with coral reefs. When the water recedes, the white-sand beach is in full view reaching out into the sea curling the island, which is close to Map Ta Phut Industrial Port. In 1999, I-EA-T, government and private-sector agencies, as well as educational institutes, initiated the "Help Island" project in honor of His Majesty the King to develop and improve Saket Phet Island into a tourist destination and a center for the study of natural resource conservation, and to highlight the fact that a balanced co-existence can be achieved between industries, communities and nature.
